Lifewise Update … Community Kickoff Meeting: June 11 at Grace 7:00 p.m.
A groundbreaking education movement for thousands of public school students to legally attend bible study classes during school hours. From Pastor Phil … we learn that individuals who live, work, or worship in West Carrollton have expressed their support. If you have not yet done so and would like to do so, please follow this link and submit your information on the West Carrollton Lifewise page:
https://lifewise.org/district/3904505-oh-montgomery-county-west-carrollton-city/
- To introduce and further explain the program to those unfamiliar with it
- To answer any questions you may have to the best of our abilities
- To recruit a few of you to help with next steps
We will be showing a video that lasts about half an hour to accomplish the first purpose. Following that, we will have a representative from Lifewise on Zoom with us to help with the second, and I’m hoping some of you will prayerfully consider helping out with the third between now and April 11. Specifically, we need 2 or 3 people who would be willing to serve on a steering committee. The function of this committee is to decide on how we would like the program to look for our school district (what grades to start with, when to start, etc) and to present the general plan to the school superintendent.
Of course we will have to leave many of the details to be worked out with the school officials, but we would like to have a skeleton of a plan to present. We will have a coach from Lifewise to help us with all facets of this work from start to finish, and the program is basically plug-and-play complete with a curriculum, so we don’t have to start from scratch. The commitment is relatively short-term, usually 2 to 6 months depending on how smoothly things go.If you think you may be willing to take that on, please let me know. I hope to see manyof you at the meeting on April 11, and once again, thanks so much for your support.
